Controller
McKinley is seeking a Controller to manage all financial activities and financial policies for a multi-entity corporation. Reporting to the ownership group, the Controller will be responsible for month end close, monthly, quarterly and annual budgeting and forecasting activities, accounting systems, risk management, banking relationships, timely and accurate tax reporting and the establishment and enforcement of accounting policies and procedures.
Principal Duties
- Ensures timely and accurate month end close and related financial reporting. Review company financial statements for accuracy and clarity
- Responsible for performing account analysis to ascertain accuracy, completeness and propriety of balances
- Responsible for performing cost analysis and allocation between entities
- Responsible for analyzing monthly cash flows.
- Coordinate the development and installation of systems which collect and store accounting information.
- Coordinate the maintenance of historical financial information as may be necessary in the normal course of business.
- Direct the quarterly and annual reviews conducted by external accounting firm
- Perform other duties as required.
- Coordinates, directs and compiles financial forecasting and budgeting. Reviews and investigates budgets to actual results.
- Report to Senior Management on operating performance, financial position, and revenue and expense analysis.
- Analyzes past, present, and expected operations results. Prepares analysis to support companies key hiring and financial objectives.
- Establish financial policy and procedures and ensure company compliance.
- Ensures adequate segregation of duties and establish policies and procedures to ensure safeguard of company assets.
- Evaluates effectiveness of current collection policies and procedures.
- Ensures the company conforms to local, state and federal governmental regulations.
- Establish business risk management program. Select and administer all insurance policies to address liability and casualty risks.
Qualifications
- Must have five to seven years of hands-on experience in all aspects of accounting.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proactive self starter.
- Exceptional communication skills, able to work with all levels of the organization.
- Proficient knowledge of Excel, problem solving and analytical skills required.
- Able to learn and manipulate complex industry software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration plus CPA Certification.
- Staffing/Service industry experience preferred.
- Experience with growth-oriented, entrepreneurial companies ideal.
